How To Develop Emotional Intelligence

Emotional Intelligence

Your emotional intelligence (EQ) is understanding your own and other people’s emotions.

First you need self-awareness, if you are not able to be aware of your own emotions, you can’t have empathy and have effective relationships.

It doesn’t matter how high your IQ is, if you can’t control your own emotions.

Successful people use their emotional intelligence to help with the stress they have and by being in control of your feelings will certainly help with your thoughts.

This is how successful people strive for excellence by being in control of their own emotions.

What exactly is emotional intelligence?

The ability to accurately identify your own emotions, as well as those of other people.

The ability to apply your emotions to tasks, such as problem-solving and knowing what you want and how to get it.

By applying your Emotional Intelligence you can control how you act or react to certain situations, you will also be able to help others by recognising their emotional state and help them be calm or get excited about a certain situation.

Emotional Intelligence has been with us since the beginning of time, if you think about it, we didn’t have speech to label what was going on; we simply acted upon how we felt.

People with a high level of EQ have a self-awareness that helps them understand themselves and why they act in a particular way.

They are not bothered by other people’s criticism, they remain focused on their own lives, rather than feeling offended.

If two people have similar IQs, the one with the higher EQ will likely be a better leader.

In life you need to be able to lead yourself and others, especially in the workplace.

Your social abilities are crucial for your success in any endeavour.

There are several attributes of emotionally intelligent people.

People who have EQ can change and adapt to different situations and circumstances without being stressed..
